The Rescue es un EP conceptual creado por la banda estadounidense Explosions in the Sky, el cual fue lanzado en el 2005. Este disco es el Volumen 21 de la serie "Travels in Constants". Este EP solo era vendido via e-mail y en algunos de los conciertos de la banda. Al agotarse tan rapido el disco y por pedido de los fans que no pudieron obtener el disco, la banda decidio colgarlo en su pagina web de manera gratuita!
El disco se grabo en solo 8 dias en casa de Michael (Bajista), una cancion por dia y luego un par de semanas mezclandolo. The Rescue fue inspirado durante una gira de la banda, cuando su camioneta se averió en el medio de la ruta. Los miembros de la banda tuvieron que esperar ocho días (de ahí los nombres de cada tema) para que reemplazaran la transmisión (como se describe durante un diálogo en la canción "Day Three"). Ellos tuvieron que pasar esos ocho días en un ático de un desconocido que fue lo suficientemente amable como para permitirles quedarse en su domicilio. Ellos describen la canción "Day Eight" como una "despedida"Si quieren saber mas sobre el proceso completo de grabacion pueden entrar a este link.
